Welcome to Children’s Books Daily!
I love everything about the children’s and YA book industry and have met some wonderful, lifelong friends in this industry. My mum is a great teacher librarian, and I grew up surrounded by books and libraries so it is unsurprising that I followed her into the literary world. I have been privileged to work in some wonderful school libraries and the school library I now work in is everything I have ever dreamed of for young people and it recently voted Australia’s Favourite School Library.
I hope you find a book you love here. Megan
Megan Daley Bio
Megan Daley is passionate about children’s literature and sharing it with young and old alike. She firmly believes that YA literature is far better than adult literature and that picture books are works of art which should adorn the walls of art galleries and libraries. She blogs about all things literary, library and tech at www.childrensbooksdaily.com. On the home front Megan has two ‘spirited’, book loving girls, one patient husband, an anxious Staffordshire terrier on Prozac and 6 chickens, all called Mavis. In daylight hours, Megan is a Teacher Librarian and was recently awarded the Qld Teacher Librarian of the Year by The School Library Association of Queensland. She is a former National Vice President of the Children’s Book Council of Australia, a judge on the Queensland Literary Awards and an editor for the Ipswich District Teacher Librarian Network Book Week publication. Megan writes academic journal articles and newsy pieces for online and print parenting magazines espousing the virtues of quality children’s literature. Each month she is the guest on the ‘BookWorms’ show on 612ABC radio and she regularly presents at conferences and literary events. Qualifications wise she has a Bachelor of Early Childhood, a Graduate Diploma in Teacher Librarianship and a Masters of Innovative Teaching and Learning. She also works as a sessional tutor at Qld University of Technology and is on the Qld chapter of the board of the Australian Children’s Laureate and the Publications Committee of the National Library of Australia. She also thinks sleep is overrated.
