Back to School Supplies

The year both my children started in kindy/school, I invested in those Tupperware lunchboxes that everyone raves about (I’m not a Tupperware girl…just not okay). Look they are just GREAT and they seem to last forever (ours are five years old and going strong) but it’s hideous  finding a COOL lunchbox bag for them to fit into. For Christmas I was given a Project Ten bag ‘green’ bag and I love it so much that I looked up the company. I did a HAPPY DANCE when I saw they had an insulated lunchbox that would fit the Tupperware Sandwich Keeper Plus…AND THEY ARE SO FUNKY. I got mine here, and some Unicorn Lunch Punch things…cause #unicorn. The ‘Daley’ labels are super plain ones from Identity Direct because I LIKE PLAIN AND SIMPLE LABELS THAT STICK. img_2082

Both my children love nothing better than new lead pencils and colours – they take after me clearly. There is something extremely calming about sharpened pencils sitting on a desk. A little OCD perhaps, but I like to at least start the year with a semblance of order. Also…librarians rather like to stick labels on things; I do love a good label or 300.

So I actually love nothing better than the ‘Back to School’ label purchasing and personalised ‘things’ ordering season – I use a mixture of online stores, but mostly Identity Direct. I love a pencilcase with a name printed on it, I love a waterbottle with a name printed on it and I really love HB pencils, all shiny and new…and with names. So calming. So shiny.

My ‘back-to-school’ posts are always popular ones and you can read past ones (including the best books to read to prepare for first day at school) by clicking on the ‘starting school’ category. The personalised stationery in this post is from Identity Direct and I ordered a set for each child. It will be first day of school in a flash, and the one year I didn’t order personalised stationery in time I spent night after night making items with a Sharpie pen and swore I’d never do it again. It’s worth the investment.

  1. These are great! I went through my whole 12 years with my name in sharpie on my things.. wish this had been around then. Also totally agree about the stationery fascination, must be a Teacher Librarian/Future Teacher Librarian trait. All the best to you guys for this school year and I must pop in to say hello sometime?
