Nature Book Week is celebrated annually from the 4-10 September and culminates in the annoucement of the winners of the 2023 Karajia and Environment Awards for Children’s Literature. The Karajia and Environment Award for Children’s Literature has been recognising the talents of authors and illustrators and promoting a love of nature in young people since it was established in 1994.

Children’s literature serves as a powerful tool for engaging young minds in conversations about the natural world. Books allow us to see the world from different perspectives, encouraging empathy, and expanding our knowledge. Stories that tackle themes of sustainability and nature provide a platform for discussion, enabling children to gather ideas and embark on journeys of learning and action. Megan Daley
